THE BIG LIE
If you tell it long enough, people may believe it to be true. This can be true about any number of arguable facts.
It’s not so much that people tend to be sheep, (which is sometimes true), it’s more like humans absorb what energy is directed at them. And if the information repeatedly beamed at them is false, it may not be detected by people who are otherwise concerned with the daily struggles of life.
Politicians throughout history have lied through their teeth to their constituents, along with just about everyone else. If you are familiar with Don Miguel Ruiz ( who wrote “The Five agreements,” which I prefer to the more well known “Four Agreements”), all humans lie, and not just to others, but to themselves.
Lying must be some form of self-preservation, and the self that is being protected is of course our old friend the ego, which exists in us all in various shapes and sizes. Apparently we all need to delude ourselves about some things, to survive in human form. And of course, some people lie to us to gain control for their own selfish needs. As you become more aware and conscious, it is more difficult to be lied to, because your senses are sharpened and more attuned to falsehood. But my truth may not be your truth, so it only proves that we all live in our own self-created reality.
The collective reality now in the United States is filled with all kinds of truths, semi-truths, and outright lies. It is your personal choice to assess what is true to you. How do you do this? The best technique to ask yourself “Does this feel right to me?”
If it does not, it does not matter if millions of people think you wrong; you just have to stick to your guns. And for that, you need ample access to courage.
