Beyond Time and Space
I don’t want this blog post to come across like some surreal, otherworldly piece set in the twilight zone!
So I want to make some things clear:
1. On a certain level, I believe in the human constraint of time and space.
2. I function within those parameters most of the time…but I strongly believe that there are some crucial elements that exist beyond time and space as we know it.
Time and space are totally human constructs, which means that those ideas are formed and limited by traditional human beliefs and conditioning. And the limits of what we think of time and space exist solely because we believe that they do…
I hope that doesn’t seem too confusing-not my intent at all. What I’m saying is that traditional notions of time and space exist for sure, but we don’t have to be bound by them.
Admittedly that’s a pretty radical concept because I’m not suggesting that we can completely escape those constructs, but I’m pretty sure that we can bend them a bit. Now that’s the crucial part: those concepts are malleable because they are only beliefs, and gain strength and acceptance only when we embrace them. If we don’t give them credence…that’s where the fun begins.
A great example of the power of beliefs is the ideas that most people have about “aging,” or what I like to call “passing through time.”
Most people believe that as you “age” you are bound to lose vitality, health, strength: something is going to happen to make you sick or frail! What would happen if you don’t embrace this belief, what if you even believe that as you age you can GAIN strength, vitality, health. If you are skeptical about this and you don’t believe it, then it can’t possibly work for you. If you sincerely held this belief, there is a good chance that your body would respond accordingly, and would increase in strength, vitality, and health as you pass through time.
The obvious problem with making this your reality: very few people believe this, or even think of this as a possibility. To a large extent YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN in making this belief your reality.
And this provides a perfect example of “beyond time and space.”
