KEEPING YOUR WORD
They say that “word is bond.” I’m not sure where that saying originated, but somehow believe that it has been around for a long time.
I won’t speculate as to whether people kept their word more twenty or thirty years ago, and in a sense it really doesn’t matter. What matters is now.
If I had to estimate the percentage of time that people actually keep their word today, right here, right now, in 2018 NYC, I would have to say just 10%.
And that estimate of 10% is gauged from amongst the most educated segments of society, too.
Is 10% a pathetic figure, or is simply a reflection of where the collective consciousness is today? Something to reflect upon, for sure.
