The Beauty of a Low Impact Life
There is so much energy swirling about these days; the flow of information alone is enough to initiate FOMO (fear of missing out), a popular affliction caused by multiple choices dangled before you.
The external world, including all the musings about capitalism, democratic socialism, environmental issues, etc., are enough to make your head spin. I find that zealots, with a carefully constructed agenda, are just as intolerant on the left, as they are on the right. What is a fully conscious person to do who desires to live a full, meaningful, “authentic” life?
I think the answer may be a “low impact life.”
Here are some of its elements:
1. Be tolerant of others’ opinions, but stick to what feels right to you, and don’t let anyone intimidate you with their agenda.
2. Choose quality over quantity in whatever you do, whatever you buy.
3. Think of the earth as a vulnerable, gentle friend who needs your help: offer it.
4. Embrace experiences over things.
5. Reject attempts to draw you into polarizing encounters.
6. Appreciate everything that is at your disposal right here right now.
7. Spread love unconditionally to whoever you meet.
8. Do what you love; love what you do.
9. Cherish the people in your life.
10.Keep your ego down, and quietly enjoy everything at your disposal.
