SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION
I have an answer for all the stressed out multi-tasking folks out there who never seem to find the time to do all the things they want, need, or on that “list.”
It’s called substantial completion, and it will make your life so much easier and more pleasant. I came to this realization quite organically, since it dawned on me that I feel quite satisfied when I have substantially completed a goal, a task, or a project. Why is substantial completion so brilliant?
Because it frees you to be human; you no longer hold yourself to an impossible standard that nobody reaches anyway. You no longer beat yourself up if things aren’t perfect. What is perfection anyway, except a man-made standard imposed by others upon your behavior to make you feel something less than what you are; which is a spiritual being having a temporary human experience.
That is perfection, and substantial completion of whatever you are doing is more than most people achieve, too. You never have to feel inadequate or incomplete if you haven’t done absolutely everything; you can now feel great substantially completing things, knowing that you are perfect as you are.
