The Blame Game
It’s all around for everyone to see, and it doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, black or white, republican or democrat.
If something goes wrong or not according to your plan, what is the first thing that everyone chooses to do in our fair-minded society: blame someone else, of course!!!
I
I’ve been noticing this trend for quite some time, but it has really gained traction in the last year, and it is somewhat befuddling to watch all these allegations of sexual harassment going on, too. Is it just me, or is there a fundamental inability for people to accept what is essentially basic human nature?
In the sexual or money realms, it is nothing new for people to do just about anything to get what they want. I’m going to come right out and say it: Every human being is predatory sometime in life. Recognizing this reality does not mean I approve of it. Does it feel good when you are on the receiving end of predatory behavior, whether that is financially related, or sexually related? IT DOESN’T FEEL GOOD AND YOU BET IT HURTS.
In everyday behavior, there is almost always a coercive element and domination by those strong and persistent enough to get what they want in bed, or elsewhere. Is this going to change because a few celebrities abused their position? I really doubt it, because it is, in a way, the law of the jungle, and no amount of political correctness in this country is going to change that.
You don’t want to admit that this is true, that this is pervasive, and that this is nothing new, but is just the underside and ugly part of human behavior. Fine, you can play LET’S PRETEND. Is it shocking that celebrities and those “in power” (whatever that archaic term means today) would use their position to have more sex with those not entirely wanting that romp? No, no and NO!!!
And in countries less prone to hand wringing, and more honest about human relations, these takedowns of public figures going on now are probably cause for great amusement.
